Hiking in the Poland's Tatra Mountains
Description
Day 1 - Krakow - Zakopane
• Arrive in Krakow and transfer to Zakopane, the perfect base for your hiking holiday in the Tatra Mountains.
• Dinner served at your hotel.
Day 2 - Warm-up Hike
• Today’s warm-up hike will take approximately 4 hours. After a fascinating funicular ride to the top of Mount Gubalowka (1123 m), stretch your legs and enjoy your introduction to the Tatras heading past the summit of Butorowy Wierch (1105 m), before descending to Chocholow. However the highlights of the day are the beautiful panoramic views of Zakopane and the High Tatras as well the visit to Chocholow which is famous for its preserved wood en architecture and local crafts.
• Afternoon: return to Zakopane and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
• Dinner served at your hotel.
Day 3 - Hiking and Architecture
• Today we offer a similar combination of hiking and the chance to admire the unique architectural style of the region. The two highest points on today’s walk are Rusinowa Polana (1260 m) and Gesia Szyja (1490 m). Visits include St. Mary’s Sanctuary at Wiktorowki and on the way back the chapel at Jazczurowka. Hiking time is approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.
• Later in the afternoon opportunity to visit the Tatrzanskie Museum.
• Dinner served at a local restaurant.
Day 4 - Kasprowy Wierch
• This is scheduled to be the longest hike during your stay in the Tatra Mountains and will normally take over 6 hours. The first part is easy because we climb to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch (1988 m) by cable car. From there you continue along the main ridge of the Tatras, from where you can admire the most beautiful panoramas the region has to offer. The highest point reached today is Krzesanica (2122 m)

Day 5 - Valleys and Passes
• Today we invite you to join your last guided walk in the area and discover some delightful valleys and passes. The highest points will be Hala Kondratowa (1333 m), Czerwona Pass (1303 m), Strazyska Meadow (1200 m) and the Strazyska Valley, a walk lasting approximately 5 hours. Rest of the day at leisure.
• Dinner served at your hotel.
Day 6 - Day at leisure or optional tours offered
• Make the most of your last day in the High Tatras as you wish. You may decide to seek out one of the many other superb walks in the area or perhaps join an optional tour such as the Dunajec River Gorge rafting or a visit to the Slovakian side of the High Tatra Mountains.
• Dinner with entertainment served at a local restaurant.
Day 7 - Zakopane - Krakow
• Morning: transfer to Krakow, including an en route visit to the remarkable Wieliczka Salt Mine.
• Afternoon: walking tour of the historic city of Krakow and time for private sightseeing or shopping.
• Dinner served at your hotel.
